“It takes the right approach: update New York City’s outdated zoning rules to spur more housing – everywhere and for everyone – and do so at the scale needed to improve the housing market for current and future New Yorkers,” said Andrew Rein.

“This budget leaves the State with a massive, future structural budget deficit, likely exceeding $16 billion. Instead of using strong receipt growth to shore up New York’s fiscal foundation, the budget adds unaffordable spending that increases future gaps -- taking the State further in the wrong direction.”

"New York City was not as prepared as we should have been for Tropical Storm Ophelia. Perhaps that’s part of why New Yorkers report feeling dissatisfied with the City’s emergency preparedness generally, and specifically with stormwater and sewer maintenance, according to a recent Citizens Budget Commission survey."
